An unforgettable journey to the world of the Balkans…
Not only did I have a chance to explore quite a little and cute city, Prizren, but also I got to know many different people from various countries and cultures thanks to this amazing experience. Apart from the shock that I had when I saw a great number of people speaking Turkish or listening to Turkish songs all over the city, I have to admit I was very content with it :) As for the project itself, it was amazing to see differences as well as similarities in terms of values. What was more amazing is that I had an opportunity to come to this conclusion by doing many activities that helped me work and socialize with great people from different countries. The project also helped me realize how little I had known about the Balkans and that I need to know more and more about them. After gaining this experience, I totally recommend everyone not to miss this opportunity to broaden their horizon and get a new perspective of the world.

Values of Peace, Values of Europe

It was such a huge opportunity to spend my time by sharing, discussing, learning, spreading love, building amazing friendships, contributing to ourselves and to the world with 33 people from 11 different countries! Although we have completely different cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, gainings; it is unbelievable that we can come together and understand each other. We deduced that actually, we are not that different, our values as a human make us converged. In a very short time, I made many good friends spreading Europe, I learned about our ‘common’ values more in-depth. Through the polls, we’ve done in the city, during the training course, I explored Prizren, their hospitality and their love towards Turks. I wasn’t expecting that almost all people know to speak Turkish and there are many memorials of Turkey. That journey also increased my interest in history. Above all, I had a lot of fun while I was improving myself from many different aspects. And now I strongly recommend to all young people to seize this opportunity and to gain one of the unforgettable experience of their lives! :)

#YouthSeasonStories When it comes to pronounce them, the words may seem so easy to comprehend and contemplate about, but how exactly those values or attitudes in general have been created in the region is an indispensable but not an easy question. So far as we know, they are not embedded in the books or manuscripts but in the people’s minds. For this very reason to try to understand even a bit of this notion, one should go and meet and discuss about it. But the propriety of this discussion also is a part of the notion. What we need is therefore to seek chances to meet with others and have a word with them about the issues and values concerning us in an environment that gives us at least some propitious conditions. To me, my last project was this chance of getting to know other people from various background and nationalities. The people I have met, the place where we convened and the hospitality of the local organisation were so nice that I will never forget what I have taken to me there.
Those values have different meaning to different people. And this easy fact might manifest itself only when we have a chance to experience other people’s feelings and mindsets. What we have done there was nothing more than this. A lot of fun is the by product of it for sure. After having met with the participants and enjoyed greatly, I would recommend anybody hesitating to try to do the same, because the new is always what make life better.
