The ICT4Society movement took attention of Beyoğlu District National Education Directorate, and they ask our NGO to develop accessibility map to analyse wheelchair accessibility condition in their schools and also places in Beyoglu. We are excited to cooperate with governmental body to spread our project in Istanbul. Accessible Beyoglu is supported by Turkish National Agency. This project aims to create an Accessible Beyoglu Map which shows accessible locations such as hospitals, schools, public transport, sports centres and restaurants using open source software. The goal of the project is to increase the social accessibility and mobility of the citizens with disabilities and to increase awareness of disability rights between youth and local communities. In the feasibility phase, we developed an Accessibility Heat Map for Beyoglu to visualise the need for wheelchair accessibility data in Beyoglu.
